CBI-electric supports Jozi FM initiative for Mandela Day

As part of our Mandela Day 2019 campaign, CBI-electric: low voltage has donated electrical protective devices in support of Jozi FM's initiative of building a computer lab for the Soweto Red Cross in Rockville. The Soweto Red Cross was nominated to benefit from proceeds made during the 2019 Party4Life event. Party4Life is an event created to celebrate Jozi FM CEO Mpho Mhlongo's birthday.

 

Advancing awareness of the risks of imitation devices

The Specialized Commercial Crimes Court in Johannesburg on June 2, convicted Abdool Kadar Omar Khan (55) – sole proprietor of the businesses trading as Akronix and South Star Technologies in Lenasia, for contravening the Counterfeit Goods Act 37 of 1997 and the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) Act 5 of 2008, for his role in importing nearly 124 000 counterfeit CBI earth leakage devices and circuit breakers from the Peoples’ Republic of China.

In a series of countrywide presentations, CBI-electric: low voltage launched their new innovative and completely web-enabled CBI³ design tool to complement their now comprehensive range of products.

Customers at the event held at the Vodacom Dome in Midrand in November, participated in a technical question and answer session and were rewarded by winning official South African cricket support jerseys. The winner’s names are: Tyler Roberts, JDL Electric; Jeff Forman, Citilec and Doris Ralulimi, Azali Engineering Projects.

CBI³ is a real time on line web based tool that provides workflow integration, design verification, design to quote and value add, product search and configuration control capabilities. It is an intelligent electrical systems design software tool that is web-based requiring no software installation. The new design tool provides improved user interface as well as improved system analysis functionality.
